A few metres from the well-known beach of A Madalena and just before the river Eume flows into the Ares estuary, we find the municipality of Cabanas. Although the main activity of its population is agriculture and livestock, tourism is the great attraction of this municipality during the summer period. Both its large sandy beach, surrounded by numerous recreational areas, and its location – an ideal starting point to visit interesting monuments, both artistic and natural – make the town, which was founded by the Counts of Traba, an obligatory stop.
