LOCATION: A Illa de Arousa
The sea is the source of wealth for the inhabitants of A Illa de Arousa, in the heart of the Ría de Arousa and linked to the Peninsula thanks to a bridge that is almost two kilometres long. Declared a Natural Reserve by the European Union and a privileged place for bird life, the island lives economically from fishing, the cultivation of mussels on platforms, shellfish and tourism, which increases in July with the Feast of the Exaltation of the Razor Clam and in August, with that of the Mussel.
