We find what was baptised by geographer Otero Pedrayo as Gulf of Ártabro, just at the end of the Costa da Morte where the Rías Altas start, opening out to the sea like an amphitheatre. A geographical accident that allowed the estuaries of A Coruña, Betanzos, Ares and Ferrol to be united around their particular history and exquisite gastronomy. The extension of this territory allows it to be clearly divided between the North and South, with the Northern Gulf of Artabro thus integrating the municipalities of Narón, Neda, Ferrol, Fene, Mugardos, Cabanas, Ares, Pontedeume, Miño and Paderne.
